I’m glad you found it interesting Adriana! I was bound to this article’s subject because I was amazed by how the art/fashion world treated the painting as if it really resembled Kate. (does it? I hardly can tell! I could almost go for deka’s feeling – frightening! Frightening to see that someone who’s image is clear in your head can be distorted so much in the name of art)

Interesting interpretation, premise and execution. But I must say that if you did not tell me who the celebrity was I might have ventured a guess of the image being Gwyneth Paltrow.

Her MySpace siad she’s 74 years old. Her official site says she’s born in Hiroshima. No dates though. If she’s 74 this means she survived the hell of Hiroshima……

Interesting.

I’ve googled to see more work of this artist. Her work made me think of Francis Bacon’s work. I’ve found her MySpace page too. Bacon is one of her heroes. So that was not a surprise. Its not easy or fair to judge an artist by only one work of art. I don’t like this one but I’ve seen pieces that I like.
