Although i do agree with all of the comments above and choosing homeless people as a source of inspiration seems like a sick idea, i find it to be quite an interesting topic.
To begin the source of any one person's inspiration should not be judged. I think that Erin's source was meant to be regarded as an edgier, rawer style, without judging the lifestyle.
Many of the peices of clothing that homeless people wear is obviously reused and i think the point was to take into consideration old fashions as well as the concept of layers/comfort.
This may seem as a touchy subject for some and i am not saying it does not touch me as an individual, but i think some of us are reading into the source of "inspiration" in a wrong way.
It just a source of realism, i don't think it's just to bank.
....
yours to decide and critisize!

Of all the condescending tripe!
With Mugato in "Zoolander" it was funny, they were making fun of fashion and the inanity of some designers and their collections, but this is beyond stupid and she is silly.
I agree with you Adriana, its too mad for words!

This makes me angry, its sick. "Inspirational for an artist blablablaba.."? Get real. We're not talking here about a piece of art that maybe makes people think or consider to do something to help another human being. This is inspirational to make profits and get [more] famous!

I hope she has donated at least some food and clothing as this people requested for or did some volunteer work which can be real inspirational.

While homeless people certainly wouldn't have been my first source of inspiration if I were designing a collection, I think as an artist it's important to be capable of drawing inspiration from anything and anywhere. And if you're inspired, even if what inspires you is unusual, you should go for it anyway, because most artists create their best work when they're most inspired! :)
