To begin the source of any one person's inspiration should not be judged. I think that Erin's source was meant to be regarded as an edgier, rawer style, without judging the lifestyle. Many of the peices of clothing that homeless people wear is obviously reused and i think the point was to take into consideration old fashions as well as the concept of layers/comfort. This may seem as a touchy subject for some and i am not saying it does not touch me as an individual, but i think some of us are reading into the source of "inspiration" in a wrong way. It just a source of realism, i don't think it's just to bank. .... yours to decide and critisize!
