I tend to wear a paper napkin tucked in my collar when I eat beacause I was also forced to do this by my dad growing up. I guess old habits are hard to break. Also, when my napkin is on my lap stuff always ends up on my shirt, so it is just better to tuck the napkin around your neck.

Ryan you may be right, we should propose a larger model for this tie napkin. Maybe like a scarf-napkin? To tuck in and hang over your lap too?

I was forced by my parents to wear a paper napkin tucked in my collar during all meals when I was growing up. Although I hated it then, I know think it makes more sense than a napkin on your lap. I saved many shirts and ties over the years by wearing my napkin tucked in.

Those are some fun napkins, but I was never taught to tuck a napkin in at my neck unless is was a lobster bib. All of my napkins get placed on my lap and if I were to use these, the mirth would be lost.
