Naomi is not very versatile but Kate is and looks splendid, aswell as interesting, in most of her editorial’s. I don’t care if she has lost her allure for the catwalk (catwalk has lost its allure to begin with, many boring, underaged models with no presence), she’s one of the best models alround.

Lola, “the dumb press we following”…hmm….last week I saw photos of Naomi Campbell’s charity fashion show for Haiti in London. (I also viewed some footage.) But Kate has lost her allure for the catwalk completely while Naomi has not lost a thing! The woman looked breathtaking beautiful and has all of her model quality in tact. She still beat easily many, many younger models.
Kate though has her only her great bone structure and her ability to pose. The enhancement of the photos does the rest to make her look that great.

They aren’t as interesting in their photo’s but I think it may have to do with the times, where a lot is interchangable.

They were personalities, totally different to today.

That’s the dumb press you are following, if you ever followed things beyond that, it’ obvious she is more than that.

The supers were never personalities…. they were NAMES. A name is not a personality. It’s true that Daria Werbowy or Agyness Deyn are far from being household names but this doesn’t mean they’re not as fabulous as the supers ever were.

I’m not aware of Christy T’s ‘personality’. Her modelling hasn’t really allowed for this. We know something about Naomi Campbell’s personality due to all the legal turmoil she’s found herself in – enough said – but Christy’s? Or the other supers? We know that Kate Moss loves partying, bad boys and cocaine – that’s a kind of window on her personality but it has been indicated by her actions rather than her professional photo shoots.
I would have to say that today’s celebrities can’t help but thrust and tweet their personalities upon us. Christy and the rest of the supers were silent beauties. Where’s the tangible personality?

Kpriss they are re-discovered, okay it’s only for a few years that they will do ads and sometimes edits. Actually this is a slap in the face of the young models of today. The biggest problem they have is that they don’t have any personality, they are promoted by their agencies but no one in the world outside the industry knows who is Daria Werbowy, Agyness Deyn, Sasha P. and so on. If they see an ad of Linda E. or Cindy C. or my beloved Christy T. they remember her name and say yes I know that woman, simply said. Adriana has right we will see again the skinny and young models on the catwalk, but they never will achieve what Linda Spierings or Karen Mulder or whatever model achieved. And that’s respect for what they did during their career.

(no offense, it was “model-talk”. The same way they preferred teens for models, they won’t settle for normal, real women, women with flaws to represent high fashion. And as far as age-oriented-clothes go, I feel just the same – it’s all in the wearer’s taste. I would never settle for some ugly bad made clothes just because they’re in my age range)
oh, Tatjana, I forgot to mention her previously! And she was such a presence!
