As if finding style-offending clothes was a problem! Avril Lavigne has discovered her inner designer and, behold! she’s unleashing it!
Abbey Dawn is “a juniors lifestyle brand” (am I losing something here? What’s a juniors lifestyle brand? Emphasizing lifestyle..?) programmed to see the store’s light in July (for the back-to-school usual frenzy) and to renew its featured designed pieces every 60 days. So not only the monster’s head gonna pop up! it’s regenerating himself! What a glorious future ahead!

And the thing I love the most about press releases is you always get a strong insight on things to come: “Expected to blend an authentic rock ’n’ roll attitude with a feminine edge”. Sure, we’re talking juniors lifestyle, it’s natural that we engage in a mixed-up discussion. About feminism and entertainment. (oh, I forgot money – the line will sell from $24-$48)
Because Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend – there will be jewelry involved in this Abbey Dawn lifestyle thing! (and we are promised that other categories will be added later!)
Am I looking at this from an over-conservative point of view?

UPDATE: Here are two images from the Abbey Dawn Collection by Avril Lavigne.

I think the collection will include modern items both for college and High School students.

Undoubtedly, the targeted clients will be amongst High School/College attendants. To me, this kind of collection will always carry a fake air, something prefabricated and using her own career image as a seller trigger for young people is rather easy. The only thing you need is maintaining yourself in the industry. So I think another album is in order.

I think Avril’s “Abbey Dawn” clothing line will do well because, although it may appeal to adults in their 20s, it will also be attractive to teens and tweens who (based on lots of concert reviews) make up a HUGE ratio of her concert audiences. And the price, which you mention in your article, is certainly affordable for that age group too.
And btw- just in case you or your readers are interested - I have an Avril website and a while ago discovered the source for Avril’s childhood nickname “Abbey Dawn” that she’s also using for her clothing line!
If you want to read about and see a couple of photos, it’s here:

I just went to kohls today and bought over $200 in Abbey Dawn! I love it, it is so adorable! and its the only clothing line i can find to fit my personality and my style! i love avril so much too!!!
hi
I just wanna say that if you have anything bad to say you shouln’t say it because if you are than why are you even on this website. I love Avril. I have all her cds. Her clothes fit my style and I wish I could by everything but I’d still be satisfied if I at least get one cool shirt or anything else. The clothes are quite popular. I love it!
Although this is exactly my style of clothing and I’ve been waiting for someone to catch on to the fact that rock & roll is back so they can create an affordable clothing line for us rockers at heart, I must say the Abbey Dawn clothing line disappoints me. The largest size available to girls is size 13 (which isn’t even a real 13, it’s more like a size 9 or 10). I am a size 14 or 15 but can sometimes, depending on the brand, buy a size 13. Abbey Dawn’s size 13 would barely go up to my thighs, so I know this is an error. I am displeased that Avril Lavigne seems to only want very skinny girls to wear her clothing line. These days girls have so many self esteem issues because of how the main stream media depicts woman as being beautiful if they are anorexic looking (Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, etc.). Avril Lavigne should be a better role model and make her clothing line available to girls of all sizes.
To you it may seem horrendous, but that is most likely because it isn’t YOUR style. Do preppy people like all black clothing? Do punks like conservative colors?
I personally like her clothes, and own some. Part of the appeal is mixing them in new and wild ways that express what you’re feeling.
molan los jeans y las camisetas pero toda la ropa de la primera foto no me gusta nada, pero las demás cosas si excepto los pantalones de lunares
Eu sinplismente adorei a coleção da avril roupas super lindas
ESSA GAROTÃ É PERFEITÃ *–*
